FlexoTech awards 2009: DuploFLEX CB for the post print industry shows its uncompromising quality



When the 2009 "FlexoTech international Print- and Innovation Awards" of the British FlexoTech magazine were presented end of last year in London, company Lohmann rejoiced in this event. Because corrugated board packaging specialist Smurfit Kappa won two awards and among other things by the help of Lohmanns product DuploFLEX CB (corrugated board), the compressible base for the high quality post print. Smurfit Kappa presented a premium beer packaging of corrugated board with an excellent image definition and an outstanding design. So Smurfit Kappa was taken as a nominee and not only won the award for "Corrugated Postprint" but also also the "Supreme Award". Printed was this "masterpiece" for the awards show by Smurfit Kappa in Leipzig/Germany with DuploFLEX CB (1.65 mm with PET). Lohmann offers two versions of DuploFLEX CB: One version is a single sided adhesive foam tape, here the PET-film must be laminated in a separate step. The other version is a none-adhesive product with a complete laminated foam on the PET-film carrier. Due to the closed cell structure of the used high quality polymere foam a superior resilience and high stability is provided. One of the main advantages of the DuploFLEX CB range is the ability to bridge the column in order to assemble thinner printing plates. So a high printing quality is achieved and the so-called "wash-board-effect" can be avoided. Once more DuploFLEX CB showed its uncompromising quality for the post print industry. Lohmann says thank you and congratulation to Smurfit Kappa.

And in contrast to open foams this one is resistant against water and solvents and is optimised in such a way that it can be released very easily. One of the main advantages of the DuploFLEX CB range is the ability to bridge the column in order to assemble thinner printing plates. So a high printing quality is achieved and the so-called "wash-board-effect" can be avoided. Another advantage for the customer is the colour coded packing. This ensures an immediate product recognition. Moreover, the entire DuploFLEX packaging is 100% recycable which is easy on the environment and saves disposal expenses.
